Welcome to the third edition of console.log(weekly), my weekly update on my talent programme minor. This week was a week of progress, and I would like to say that I’m on schedule.
What I did this week
This week was a good week, I’ve planned some user tests with UX experts for next week. Besides testing an user flow I want to pitch them the idea of the app and hear their thoughts on it. I also did some research on an AR library, in the end I settled on Viro React. Read more about my process on choosing a library in my blog post The great library of libraries
Development
The development of Apolloview is going strong, after creating a hello world type AR screen in the app I went to work on the CMS. I spend some time refining the CMS and making it faster and use less data, when that was done I created a connection between the CMS and the application, successfully displaying data from my CMS in my application.
Some feedback on myself
No matter how much I tried, I was not able to create a test flight build to showcase during the weekly talent programme standup. Seeing error messages after waiting 5 to 10 minutes for every attempt was very frustrating, my goal for next week is most definitely to get this fixed and use a working prototype in the user test and not just a Figma prototype
Next week
My goal for next week is building up to the user test on Friday, testing with a real test build would be the most ideal situation. This would require getting a test flight build out before Thursday and getting the actual production CMS ready before Friday as we currently are still on the development local CMS
