Welcome to the last edition of console.log(weekly), my (almost) weekly update on my Talent Programme minor. The past 3 weeks I was out of office, but I didn’t sit still on my vacation and brought my laptop and code editor.

What I did the last 3 weeks

Besides my Japan trip visiting shrines, eating wagyu and drinking sake I also did the occasional work between sightseeing platforms. I provided instructions to the students who wanted to partake in the POC and send the invites out to the final users. I prepared the repo for the final sprint because stability now saves time later. Think pruning stale branches, tightening checks, and documenting the few decisions that still mattered. Small but important dev touches to remove friction during release.

Some feedback on myself

I sent the student link later than planned. I should have set expectations that matched my motivation and calendar. I imagined myself working an hour every day on my trip, but just like those self help apple notes you make at 3AM, it never fully comes alive when it’s time to deliver. I hope everyone completes the form in time because that input still improves the final polish.

The final sprint

This is the final sprint and go live is planned for Monday, November 10, 2025. The plan is simple. Lock content, verify the CMS entries, and run a last pass on flows that students touch first. Triage anything new within the same day and only accept fixes that reduce risk. Prepare a short rollback plan so decisions stay easy under time pressure. Set up basic monitoring, a quick success metric, and a short checklist for Monday morning. Then ship.

Some feedback on the project

While the project is not done yet, this is the last blogpost while in the process. I look back proudly at what I’ve created and hope I can convince my school to pursue this after my minor is finished.
